Style That Saves

Female superheroes have taken over TV this fall. From Marvel's Jessica Jones to Supergirl, female superheroes are everywhere.

These crime fighting girls aren't given the most practical costumes to save the day in. Their costumes also pretty objectifying and take away from the complete bad-ass qualities these heroes have.

Here's my tweaks to female superhero costumes to help them save the world, in style and comfort.

1. Tie. Up. Their. Hair. It makes literally no sense that these superheroes are flying, jumping, punching, kicking, *insert action move here* with hair flopping all over the place. Have you ever walked into any gym? Have you seen any females with their hair down? Nope, because it's virtually impossible to move without being blinded by hair flying in your eye or being choked by lose strands. I can't even take a test without my hair tied back, never mind save the entire universe.

2. I can't begin to understand why Supergirl is flying around in a skirt. Have the lovely creators over at DC Comics heard of leggings? I'm sure a nice pair of Lululemons would ease some of the crime fighting moves Supergirl has to do. Anything designed to make a pilates class comfortable has to transfer over to beating up villains.

3. There's a nice little invention called flat shoes that would do a great deal towards helping the female superhero population. For whatever reason a good portion of them are still running around in heels. Unless they all have an extra superhumanly power to not feel pain in their heels and not blister on their toes, I think some Nike's would help them out.

And always remember,
